About the Central Illinois Christmas Fund
For the past 113 years, the annual Central Illinois Christmas Fund has provided Christmas Food Boxes for local people in need during the holidays.
The money raised through the Christmas Fund for this year is being used to purchase food for 4,000 Christmas Food Boxes that will include a gift card with each box that recipients can use to purchase meat for their meal or other items they need to complete their holiday dinner.
1 in 5 children in Peoria County don’t have adequate access to nutritious food. Couple that with the fact that close to 20% of people living in Peoria County are living at or below the poverty level and you can see how important this food box can be for someone during the holidays.
This program is made possible through donations from the community, along with major support from PNC Bank.
We are also grateful for donations from OSF Healthcare and Ameren.
